Edith P. Ross, 89, went to be with the Lord on Friday July 9, 2010. Mrs. Ross was predeceased by her husband Thomas Ivy Ross, Sr. and her parents Billie and Ben Putman. She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Ross Radford and her husband, Jeff; son, Tom Ross, Jr. and wife, Lisbeth Eddy Ross; 4 grandchildren, Shawn Radford and wife, Ellen, Chad Radford and wife, Amanda, Meredith Stephens and her husband, Drew and Brandon Ross; 2 great-grandchildren, Aidan Radford and Owen Stephens. She is also survived by her long-time friend and devoted companion, Alfred Ray Hedgepeth. The family would like to express their gratitude to his loving and supportive family. Edith was a Loving and Caring Mother and friend to all and will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Mrs. Ross was a native of Portsmouth, a charter member of West Side Christian Church, an over 50 year member of Esther Chapter # 37 Order of the Eastern Star and past Worthy Matron, a member of the Scottish Rite Ladies, Beazley Senior Center, and the Churchland Seniors Group. Edith was employed at The Famous. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in West Side Christian Church by Rev. Ken Bryant, with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church in her memory
